Overall, I had a very good experience opening an account! I recently opened an account here and was impressed with the customer service. As someone who works in the same industry, I can confidently say that their account opening process for German customers is excellent. After two days of waiting, I called to inquire about the verification status and found the customer service to be friendly and helpful, providing accurate and reasonable answers. It took a total of seven days from verification to accessing the Openbank app using fingerprint login. The cybersecurity rating is top-notch. I’m currently waiting for my card, but I can already transfer and receive money, and there are no monthly fees with the standard package—something that stands out compared to many other banks. I did encounter a couple of minor issues: the mobile app isn’t perfect, and I couldn’t easily find options to change withdrawal limits or a comprehensive price list. However, I received my card shortly after opening the account, and transactions and card payments work as expected. The card and all policy information arrived packaged professionally. Overall, this deserves a five-star rating without a doubt. Very happy so far!

I've been a customer for 1.5 years and opened a current account and a savings account to apply for a mortgage with Openbank. The account opening process was somewhat complicated as I don't speak fluent Spanish and needed an English-speaking customer service agent. However, I was able to arrange a callback from an English-speaking agent, which required some patience since the callback times weren’t always accurate, and there were occasions when I didn’t receive a call as promised. Overall, the service worked fine. I do believe Openbank needs to be clearer on their ID verification process, as the instructions were not sufficient. When I applied for a mortgage, I was assigned an agent who was fantastic. My experience with the mortgage application was excellent due to her availability, efficiency, and helpfulness. My paperwork was sent online or by email without any issues (though my mortgage is not with Openbank ultimately). Additionally, I opened a 2.75% 12-month deposit savings account online in just minutes, which was incredibly easy. My automated deposits from a European account into this deposit account are happening seamlessly. I rated Openbank 5 stars because of my positive experience. I have now opened three accounts—a current account, a savings account, and a deposit account—as an English-speaking customer requiring extra support, and I applied for a mortgage with this bank. I have read other reviews, but I haven’t had any problems so far.

I have had a wonderful experience with Openbank so far. Opening the account took less than a week, including verification. It's important to note that Spanish banking laws are much stricter than those in Northern Europe. My card has never been declined anywhere, and as one of the first Dutch customers, I received travel+ for free, allowing me to make payments in foreign currency without markup fees! I truly love this bank and have had great follow-ups from customer service when I reached out. Additionally, they assist Dutch customers in Dutch, which is fantastic!
